Rules for Vintage Chorus Battle
Team Information
Team Size: 4-8 vocalists required. Up to 8 staff-only members (so teams can be anywhere from 4-16 members)
Teams must be complete by time of registration. One member must be named leader, and one co-leader for cases where the leader is unavailable.
Teams can add/drop members as long as the team size requirements are maintained. Please notify the organizers when you make changes to a team's roster.
Participants can only be in 1 team at a time.
There is no cap on number of teams that can register-- just register by the deadline and you are in!
Submission Information
This is a cover competition for songs released before January 1, 2016.
Original songs do not fit the theme, and are not allowed for this chorus battle.
In the case of mashups, all songs must be before 2016.
There is no theme for the rounds-- the only requirement is that the song is from before 2016.
Instrumental remake/remixes are allowed as long as the source song is before 2016.
Songs must be at least 2:30 in length. There is no maximum length for entries.
Songs can be in any language/genre.
Entries must be publicly available on Youtube. Alternate video sources will be required upon submission.
There is no grace period. The deadline is 11:59 PM Pacific Time of each listed date. If your team is rendering at the time of the deadline, submit an extension request to the judges with a proof in the form of a screenshot and you will be given 12 hours of "grace."
Youtube title must be in this format: 【#VCB23-R#】Song Name【Team Name】
Submissions will require: Alternate video upload location, mp3 of acapella, mix, and wav of mix, all art assets drawn for the entry, and external assets used in the video.
Entries will not be allowed to submit with AI assets. If AI use has been discovered to be used, teams will face heavy deductions that could result in disqualification from the competition.
Feedback Information
There will be 3 rounds total. 50% of the participants will pass onto the next round.
Critiques can be requested for 1 category (vocals/mix/art/animation).
Critiques will be provided at the end of the judging period along with a scoresheet.
